Hello, I’m Igor.
In product design, I look for oddities in how things work for people, and design interactions that guide them without taking away their control. I also build what I design.
Oddities are places where what people actually do doesn’t fit how things are set up for them. I find them through research, and they can lead to fixing a product or to something that doesn’t exist yet.
Before products I designed games: core loops, limits, a playtest on every build. That’s where I learned to guide people toward an action or a feeling. In products I use it to help people do what they already want, not to hook them. How people think is what I want to go deeper into next, through cognitive science.
I was writing code before AI, so to me it’s a tool I control, not a black box: one part of a process I’ve already carried from idea to release more than once.

what i believe
I can’t design what people do, only the conditions they act in. A product is only how the value reaches people, and I want that value to stay with them, and getting there to feel a little more joyful.
So I’d rather understand people first than force a path on them.
The games, films and music I grew up with stayed with me long after I finished them. That’s what I want from the things I design.

A few more things about me
I started in software engineering, then designed games, and found in product design the place where both meet. I care about the whole feel of things: visuals, motion, sound and small details working as one.
I’m also a proud boyfriend to the best girlfriend in the world, an editorial and illustrative sketcher, and I keep a blog.
